Jake Dypka

The best way to describe Jake and his work is to go backwards. In the summer of 2011, Jake directed a lovely documentary for Dry The River while they were recording their first album in New York. Back in March 2011, Jake was awarded “Best Newcomer” for the UK film industry by the IVCA. Before that, Jake came to everyone’s attention turning a little film about a boy in prison into an internationally award-winning short film for Network Rail. It was described by an awards jury as a “deeply mature piece of film-making”. Jake was 26. Everything is backwards with Jake. Jake has filmed in Helmand Province in Afganistan without getting a scratch but broke both his elbows on the Old Kent Road. He came off his bicycle, avoiding children who were obviously never taught the green-cross-code. He has made commercials in Danish and shot in Singapore for Publicis.  He has worked in slow motion for Whistles, live for Topshop and in stopmotion for Leo Burnett. As a producer, you always know when a director is talented. Camera crew wants to work with them on anything they do.

Dahling...the extravaganza has come to an end. #RIPPUBLIC
